DIGIS3 promotes innovation at the 5th National Iberian Pig Forum, investigating the effect of animal movement on the quality of its meat

News - DIGIS3

DIGIS3 participated in the V National Forum on Iberian Pig 2024, organised by the IBENUCOP Consortium, which took place on 26 June 2024 in the Chapel of the Archbishop of Fonseca College in Salamanca.

During the day, several professionals presented a series of technological projects focused on the agri-food sector. Among them, the feeding trial for quality in Cebo and Cebo de Campo, in which AIR Institute participates as a member of the European Centre for Digital Innovation DIGIS3, stood out.

Still at a preliminary stage, this project seeks to clarify the impact of animal movement on the quality of the meat of Iberian pigs. To this end, DIGIS3 has proposed the design of a monitoring device adapted to the animal's physiognomy and behaviour, which collects data on its movement. To this end, enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT) and data integration will be used for its correct interpretation.

Finally, there was time for a colloquium and a networking session, where the Digital Europe Programme was presented to the companies attending, with interest in training services, prototyping and the search for funding for the sector.
