Burgos will host for the first time an artificial intelligence and virtual reality hackathon (HaCoBu 2024). It will take place on 8 and 9 March at La Estación de la Ciencia y la Tecnología (C/ Dr. José Luis Santamaría s/n) thanks to the organisation of ITCL Centro Tecnológico and the University of Burgos, with funding from the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICE) and the collaboration of the Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0 (DIHBU), both members of DIGIS3.
The event, framed within the activities of the Artificial Intelligence Chair of the UBU-ITCL, will consist of the collaboration of students and software developers to face different challenges, share knowledge and establish contacts. The aim of the set of events is that students can train and learn about projects and success stories related to AI, as well as to train the professionals of the future in an essential technological area such as this to transfer knowledge to companies, entities and administrations. The hackathon is also part of the activities carried out by DIHBU as a member of DIGIS3.
A series of rewards will encourage participation, with three prizes awarded to those who obtain the highest scores in the challenges:
- First prize: €1,500.
- Second prize: 750 euros.
- Third prize: 750 euros (provided by DIHBU, a member of DIGIS3).
The rules of the challenge and the call for bachelor's, master's and doctoral students from all over the country will be published soon, so the scope is not limited exclusively to the University of Burgos. The activity, which is free of charge, will begin on Friday 8 March at 13:00 and will end on Saturday 9 at 18:00. If you are interested in participating in this or other events, keep an eye on the DIHBU and DIGIS3 websites.
