The Castilla y León Supercomputing Centre (SCAYLE) is organising the workshop "Qubits: Your First Steps Towards Quantum Computing", scheduled for Wednesday, 27th November, from 09:00 to 18:00, in the room called Aula de Formación de SCAYLE (CRAI-TIC Building, Campus de Vegazana s/n, León).
The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with an introduction to quantum computing, both from a theoretical perspective and through basic practical examples. It is particularly aimed at researchers across all fields of knowledge who are interested in adapting their work to quantum computing.
The workshop will be led by Carmen Calvo Olivera and Santiago Merino Bajo, technical experts from Quantum Spain at SCAYLE.
Workshop Agenda:
- 09:00-11:00: Introduction to the quantum world. Evolution from classical to quantum and basic concepts. What is it used for? A QComputer.
- 11:00-11:30: Break.
- 11:30-14:00: What is a QComputer, and how does it work? SCAYLE’s role in the quantum world (Quantum Spain Project). Guided tour of the data centre.
- 14:00-15:30: Lunch break.
- 15:30-18:00: First steps towards Quantum Computing. Quantum emulators. SCAYLE emulator.
