Two of the most influential researchers in Castilla y León are members of the DIGIS3 consortium

Seven of Castilla y León researchers are among the top-ranking scientists in Spain, two of whom belong to the DIGIS3 consortium.

Juan Manuel Corchado, coordinator of DIGIS3 and president of the AIR Institute, and Javier González Gallego, professor at the University of León (ULE) and coordinator of a research group, are the highest-ranking researchers in Castilla y León who belong to the DIGIS3 consortium.

This data is contained in a study carried out by Google Scholar, which shows the 112,000 most searched researchers on Google Scholar. The list of the most influential researchers is based on the 'h-index' from most to least and the citations of their studies.

This indicator is used to determine the professional quality of scientific work. It is based on the relevance of the publication and takes into account the researchers’ most cited studies and the number of times each study has been cited. Therefore, the higher the number of citations, the higher the ranking of the researcher.

These data were collected in the last week of November and Juan Manuel Corchado takes the 163rd position nationally and comes second in the ranking of the most influential researchers in Castilla y León. Juan Manuel Corchado, who has a PhD in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of the West of Scotland, has a total of 20,955 citations since 2017, according to Google Scholar.

For his part, Javier González Gallego, ranked 380th and is the first scientist from the University of León to appear on this list. He is a professor at the University of León and coordinator of a research group at the Center for Biomedical Research Network on Liver and Digestive Diseases. According to Google Scholar, his study with the most citations, 9,279, deals with guidelines on the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy.
