Is your company developing an innovative product, process or service in collaboration with partners from other countries? Eurostars, part of the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs, co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe, funds international collaborative R&D and innovation projects in any field of technology.
What do you need to apply?
- The consortium must be led by an innovative SME from a Eurostars country (Spain is a participating country).
- At least 2 independent entities from 2 different Eurostars countries, with at least one from an EU or Horizon Europe Associated Country.
- SMEs from Eurostars countries must account for 50% or more of the total project budget (excluding subcontracting).
- No single participant or country can be responsible for more than 70% of the budget.
- Maximum project duration: 36 months, with an exclusive focus on civil applications.
Funding available for Spain (managed by CDTI):
- Small company: up to 60% of eligible costs (increasable to 70% if national budget is available).
- Medium-sized company: up to 50% of eligible costs.
- Maximum of €400,000 per Spanish participant, with no minimum budget.
- Spanish large companies and universities/research organisations can take part as project partners but are not eligible for CDTI funding — they must self-fund.
Deadline: the call opened on 9 July 2026 and closes on 10 September 2026 at 14:00 CET. Applications are submitted in English via the myeurekaproject.org platform.
How it's evaluated: proposals are assessed on quality of implementation, impact (market, competitiveness, commercialisation) and technical excellence. Eligibility results arrive within a week of the deadline, and the final funding decision is communicated by mid-December 2026.
